This pale yellow to brown slightly oily liquid is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohol/ oil. Its odour is a pleasant combination of tobacco and nicotine with an earthy-mossy overtone, used in trace levels by perfumers as a direct odour preference or as a modifier.
